- Delta — best affordability: unusually inexpensive acreage, a county mechanic opening, and a local Cimarron home-health office. The tradeoff is a smaller job market if either initial position disappears.
- Montrose — best balance: a larger employment base than Delta, a particularly strong municipal fleet position, multiple home-visiting RN paths, and substantial acreage inventory.
- Grand Junction — best employment security: by far the deepest market for both occupations and the best private-duty nursing prospects, but land generally costs more.
