Following up on the Valentine’s Day post, let’s direct DALL-E to create a few images for us. Associated with each pair of images you will see the prompt that created it. The process of creating these prompts is called prompt engineering.
It is interesting that the DALL-E AI understands how to draw people and things, but still has a little difficulty connecting people with things:
- The cross-country skier has two skis on the ground and one foot in the air.
- The man on the bike has both feet off the pedals.
- The husky dogs don’t want to be centered on the front of the sleigh.
The quality and detail in these images are just amazing. Each pair of images takes about 45 seconds to render. Although the related AI technologies have been in development for many years, the integration in to the current form is very new and is improving rapidly. AI can now do this with life-like video and audio that looks and sounds exactly like real people.
A warning about what you see and hear
If a guy in his pajamas can produce images like this in half an hour, imagine what a focused individual or team can accomplish over a few weeks more months.
- We can no longer trust what we see and hear, it requires validation.
- Be a skeptic, until proven wrong.
